Why choose a golf trip to Morocco

Winter sun & reliable weather

  • Over 300 days of sunshine a year and mild temperatures, including in winter – when Europe is cold and wet, you can still play in short sleeves in Morocco. Broken Zebra Golf+1
  • This makes it perfect for November–March trips when most nearby destinations are out of action.

Great courses in compact areas

  • Around 40 courses, but many of them are high quality and clustered around Marrakech, Agadir, Rabat and Casablanca – so you can easily play several courses in one week without long transfers.
  • Signature venues like Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat host major international events such as the Hassan II Trophy and Lalla Meryem Cup.

Good value for money

  • Compared with Spain/Portugal, green fees, hotels, food and transport are often cheaper for similar or better weather, especially outside peak holidays (though exact prices depend on season and packages).

Atmosphere you don’t get in Europe

  • You’re not just playing golf – you get souks, hammams, riads, desert trips, Atlantic beaches, Atlas Mountains and proper North African culture alongside your rounds. Tourism authorities even promote “seven different golf experiences” from imperial cities to coastlines.

Short and easy travel from Europe

  • From much of Europe it’s often a 3–4 hour flight, same or similar time zone, and no brutal jet lag – ideal for a 4–7 day golf break.

Resort comfort + non-golfers are happy

  • Places like Agadir and Marrakech offer all-inclusive resorts, spa hotels and golf-specific packages, so mixed groups (golfers + partners/friends) work really well.

Growing golf culture & events

  • The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation is actively pushing golf tourism, youth programs and international tournaments, so facilities and service levels are generally improving year by year

Golf Vacation Morocco FAQs

The prime seasons are March–May and September–November – warm, sunny, and comfortable almost everywhere.
Winter (Dec–Feb) is great for Marrakech and Agadir if you want winter sun, while inland areas can be hot in July–August, so coastal golf (Agadir, Mazagan, Tangier) is better then.
For many visitors (including most of Europe and the UK), no visa is required for tourist stays up to 90 days – just a passport valid for at least 3–6 months beyond arrival.
Always double-check current entry rules with your local Moroccan embassy or government travel advice before booking.
  • Marrakech – many desert-style courses with Atlas Mountain views, vibrant city life.
  • Agadir – Atlantic resort town, several courses close together, popular in winter.
  • Rabat & Casablanca – mix of royal championship courses and coastal resort layouts.
  • Tangier & the North – cooler climate in summer, a growing golf region.
Morocco is a well-established tourist destination and generally considered safe in the main cities and resort areas, especially in organized golf environments. As everywhere, use normal travel common sense:
  • Keep valuables secure
  • Use registered taxis/transfers
  • Follow local advice and stay aware in busy markets/medinas
