We want to make sure you’re prepared for your Italy golf vacation. Here’s everything you need to know:
Best Time to Visit: For the best experience, book your golf break to Italy between April and June or September and October. Summer can be very hot, particularly in southern Italy; some courses might be busy. During Winter, some courses in the north may close; southern/coastal courses tend to stay more open.
Electrical Current Standard is 220 volts. Make sure to bring an adapter if you have 115-volt appliances.
Passports: Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date.
Tipping: In Italy, tipping is not mandatory. However, restaurants may have a service charge, and it’s customary to round up the bill or leave 5–10% for good service. For tour guides, drivers, etc., tipping is appreciated but not required, and tends to be small (€5-€10).
Dining: The food is a highlight of any golf trip to Italy. Expect fresh local ingredients, first-class wines, and regional dishes that celebrate Italy’s culinary heritage.
Golf Carts and Caddies: If you need a golf cart, please let your tour manager know in advance. Most Italian golf clubs have a limited number of carts available. Caddies can be requested ahead of time at most leading courses, and we can assist with arranging these as part of your Italy golf tour planning.
Weather: Average summer temperatures range between 65–85°F (18–29°C) depending on the region. Coastal and northern areas tend to be milder, while central and southern Italy can get hot in July and August. Lightweight golf clothing is fine for most of the season, but bring a light sweater or jacket for evenings and a waterproof layer just in case.
Insurance: Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance, including medical coverage and protection for your golf equipment and luggage.
Money and Credit Cards: The unit of currency in Italy is the Euro (€). Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted, and American Express is accepted in many hotels and restaurants, though not everywhere. It’s useful to carry some cash for small shops and cafes.
There are several outstanding destinations to choose from when booking an Italy golf package.
