Play Real Club de Golf Las Brisas

There are many golf courses in the Malaga area of Spain’s Costa del Sol, but there is no doubt that Las Brisas is one of the best and it’s also one of the eldest. It’s a 1968 RTJ masterpiece and Robert Trent Jones. Las Brisas was one of the first courses in Europe to use bent grass and the brave decision was quickly rewarded by being chosen as the host venue of the 1973 World Cup of Golf. Perfectly maintained, Las Brisas oozes quality from beginning to end. With strategically placed bunkers, plenty of water hazards and tricky raised green sites, Las Brisas is as much about position, both off the tee and with approach shots, as it is about length. The course opens up with a cracking series of holes and many on the back nine sweep left and right to through stands of trees.

Estepona is a town and municipality in the comarca of the Costa del Sol, southern Spain. It is located in the province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia. Host to the 2009 World Matchplay Championship

Sightseeing Suggestion: Casares

is one of the beautiful white villages of Málaga province, set on a mountain. It commands stunning views across the Mediterranean to the Rock of Gibraltar and the Moroccan Coast. Sightseeing should include the old Roman spa from the Hedionda, the Ferrete caves once inhabited by Palaeolithic man, the birthplace of the lawyer Blas Infante and the ruins of an Arab fort. The handicraft of Casares is based on esparto grass objects, weaving, lacework, jewellery, ceramics, glass and woodwork for making artistic doors. Among the most representative dishes is the rabbit cooked in various ways. In the winter they have soup made with bread and oil, porridge, potato stew and kid blackpudding. In the summer, the people of Casares have their own form of 'gazpacho' cold soup and they have their own white wine obtained from their vines. We recommend visiting the Quesería Sierra Crestellina, award-winning goats cheese factory.

Sightseeing Suggestion: Ronda

Ronda — is only one hour from Marbella a beautiful drive through the impressive Serrania de Ronda. The 'Old' quarter has the structure of a Moorish town and is situated on a point protected by a gorge dug by the river Guadalevin. The 'San Francisco' quarter (Saint Francis), outside the old city precinct, is more rural. From here, Christian troops laid siege to the city in the 15th century. The 'Mercadilo' quarter (street market), in the north of the city, on the other side of the gorge, began to develop in the 16th century, but it underwent its largest expansion in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is the shopping area of the city with pedestrian streets. There is much to see in Ronda including one of the oldest bullrings in Spain.

Play Valderrama G.C

Valderrama G.C. This is a tough Trent-Jones course, often ranked #1 course on the European mainland, hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup match. Valderrama has two prevailing winds: the poniente from the land, which in summer can be very hot, and the levante from the Mediterranean, which brings a cooler sea breeze. The changed conditions, depending on which one is blowing, add variety to a golf course that is already rich in shot values. Forecaddie is mandatory, the rate is 60€ + gratuity and must be paid in cash on the day of play.

DAY 9

Play Marbella Golf Club Resort

The Marbella Club Hotel Golf Resort is a world class Marbella golf course in Costa del Sol that exceeds even the highest expectations. With a total length of 6,247m, the golf course is enhanced by carefully contoured fairways, beautiful waterfalls, lakes and strategically placed bunkers, as well as undulating and protected greens, maintained to perfection. The in-house British P.G.A. Professional, Gary Vautier, has extensive experience teaching all aspects of the game at all levels of ability, and is available to answer your queries, upon request, several times a week. With limited play and an average of 30 minutes between tee times, over-crowded rounds are not a concern and morning tee times are guaranteed. Players need only concentrate on their game and enjoy a superb day of golf that meets the expectations of the most demanding fans of the sport.

Sightseeing Suggestion: Marbella

With a particularly scenic coastline and many top tourist attractions, Marbella is one of the Costa del Sol's most popular tourist resorts. Apart from the many sandy beaches and large selection of water sports, other notable tourist attractions in Marbella include the old town. Marbella's cascoantiguo, or "historic downtown", has several fascinating features. The casco antiguo‘s central square is the Plaza de los Naranjos (Oranges Square), to which all of its narrow cobbled streets eventually seem to lead. Filled with the orange trees that are one of Andalusia’s trademarks, its tapas bars and restaurants have sunny terraces on which to relax with a cold caña (small beer). The Muralla de la Alcazaba, remnants of an Arab-built fortification. Narrow, winding, labyrinthine streets characterise this typically Arabic town. This design is much appreciated by modern Marbellis as it provides a constant shade over the ground throughout the urban centre, protecting pedestrians from the harsh sun throughout the day.
It might surprise you to learn that Marbella boasts a world-class collection of Salvador Dalí sculptures. Ten of the Catalonian surrealist’s bronze works are spread out along the Avenida del Mar, a wide boulevard that leads down to the seafront promenade, and are free to view.
