Sightseeing Suggestion: Killarney Town

This vibrant “little” town and the incredibly beautiful surrounding countryside makes Killarney a very special place indeed. Brim full of history, heritage, activities, and world class hospitality. Killarney is populated with enthusiastic and welcoming people, and this enthusiasm is reflected in many national and international awards. One of Ireland's leading tourist destinations because of the abundant lake and mountain scenery in Killarney National Park.

Fri 23 Aug
Play Tralee G.C

Tralee G.C. A relatively new course and was the first designed by Arnold Palmer in Europe. It is often compared with Turnberry and Pebble Beach. The challenge of this course is unique golfing experience being laid out along rugged cliffs with many holes being influenced by their close proximity to the ocean. This stunning setting represents a true paradise for those willing to challenge what is widely acclaimed as one of the finest links courses in the world.  18 holes, 6519 yards, par 73.

Sightseeing Suggestion: Dingle Peninsula

The Dingle Peninsula is the northernmost of the major peninsulas in County Kerry. It ends beyond the town of Dingle at Dunmore Head, the westernmost point of Ireland and arguably Europe. Once described as 'the most beautiful place on earth', the Dingle Peninsula is a place of intense allure, with a plethora of green landscapes, rocky hills, long sandy beaches and staggering cliff edges. The peninsula exists because of the band of sandstone rock that forms the Slieve Mish mountain range at the neck of the peninsula, in the east, and the unnamed central mountain range further to the west. Ireland's highest mountain outside Macgillycuddy's Reeks, Mount Brandon at 951 m, forms part of a beautiful high ridge with stunning views over the peninsula and North Kerry.

Sat 24 Aug
Play Waterville G.C

Waterville G.C. The drive to Waterville is inspiring in itself, along the scenic Ring of Kerry. The links is remote and is normally uncrowded. Golf was first played here in the 1870s but in the last 20 years it has been updated to the ranks of World Class links golf. As one of only a handful of championship links in either Ireland or Britain, Waterville brings in some of the world’s best golfers.18 holes, 6549 yards, par 72.

Sightseeing Suggestion: Ring of Kerry

This is a circular route of about 110 miles, one of the most spectacular tours in Europe. It is best to start from Killarney and follow the route counter-clockwise for the best views. The drive is about 4 hours but you should take longer and explore inland and some of the coastal towns. The route is studded with ruins and archaeological sights, towns ,villages and spectacular scenery

Sightseeing Suggestion: Ross Castle

Ross Castle sits on the edge of Killarney's lower lake and was built by O'Donoghue Mór in the 15th century. The Castle came into the hands of the Brownes who became the Earls of Kenmare and owned an extensive portion of the lands that are now part of Killarney National Park . Legend has it that O'Donoghue still exists in a deep slumber under the waters of Lough Leane. On the first morning of May every seven years he rises from the lake on his magnificent white horse and circles the lake. Anyone catching a glimpse of him is said to be assured of good fortune for the rest of their lives. The large rock at the entrance to the bay is known as O'Donoghue's prison. Ross Castle was the last stronghold in Munster to hold out against Cromwell. It was eventually taken by General Ludlow in 1652.

Ballybunion G.C. The Old course dating from 1896 has long been regarded as the ultimate test in links golf. It is situated in a remote corner of County Kerry amid the largest sand dunes in the British Isles. The Old Course exudes a majestic feel that simply cannot be compared to any other course on earth.
