This vibrant “little” town and the incredibly beautiful surrounding countryside makes Killarney a very special place indeed. Brim full of history, heritage, activities, and world class hospitality. Killarney is populated with enthusiastic and welcoming people, and this enthusiasm is reflected in many national and international awards. One of Ireland's leading tourist destinations because of the abundant lake and mountain scenery in Killarney National Park.
Tralee G.C. A relatively new course and was the first designed by Arnold Palmer in Europe. It is often compared with Turnberry and Pebble Beach. The challenge of this course is unique golfing experience being laid out along rugged cliffs with many holes being influenced by their close proximity to the ocean. This stunning setting represents a true paradise for those willing to challenge what is widely acclaimed as one of the finest links courses in the world. 18 holes, 6519 yards, par 73.
The Dingle Peninsula is the northernmost of the major peninsulas in County Kerry. It ends beyond the town of Dingle at Dunmore Head, the westernmost point of Ireland and arguably Europe. Once described as 'the most beautiful place on earth', the Dingle Peninsula is a place of intense allure, with a plethora of green landscapes, rocky hills, long sandy beaches and staggering cliff edges. The peninsula exists because of the band of sandstone rock that forms the Slieve Mish mountain range at the neck of the peninsula, in the east, and the unnamed central mountain range further to the west. Ireland's highest mountain outside Macgillycuddy's Reeks, Mount Brandon at 951 m, forms part of a beautiful high ridge with stunning views over the peninsula and North Kerry.
Waterville G.C. The drive to Waterville is inspiring in itself, along the scenic Ring of Kerry. The links is remote and is normally uncrowded. Golf was first played here in the 1870s but in the last 20 years it has been updated to the ranks of World Class links golf. As one of only a handful of championship links in either Ireland or Britain, Waterville brings in some of the world’s best golfers.18 holes, 6549 yards, par 72.
Ross Castle sits on the edge of Killarney's lower lake and was built by O'Donoghue Mór in the 15th century. The Castle came into the hands of the Brownes who became the Earls of Kenmare and owned an extensive portion of the lands that are now part of Killarney National Park . Legend has it that O'Donoghue still exists in a deep slumber under the waters of Lough Leane. On the first morning of May every seven years he rises from the lake on his magnificent white horse and circles the lake. Anyone catching a glimpse of him is said to be assured of good fortune for the rest of their lives. The large rock at the entrance to the bay is known as O'Donoghue's prison. Ross Castle was the last stronghold in Munster to hold out against Cromwell. It was eventually taken by General Ludlow in 1652.
Ballybunion G.C. The Old course dating from 1896 has long been regarded as the ultimate test in links golf. It is situated in a remote corner of County Kerry amid the largest sand dunes in the British Isles. The Old Course exudes a majestic feel that simply cannot be compared to any other course on earth. With beautifully contoured fairways that tumble down through a blanket of grassy dunes, it's no wonder these challenging holes have been consistently rated among the top courses in the world so make sure you play here on you Irish golf vacation. Old, 18 holes, 6593 yards, par 71.
Dromoland Castle Golf and Country Club has undergone an amazing transformation over the past three years, thanks to an investment of €5 million by our owners. The project, undertaken by the late world renowned, Irish golfing legend, J.B. Carr and one of golf's great golf course architects, Ron Kirby, has produced dramatic results. Dromoland Castle golf resort is one of the finest 5 star hotels in Ireland and now has a golf course to equal the splendour of the setting. Visitors to the course have described it eloquently as "the Augusta of Ireland". 6822 yards par 72.
Lahinch G.C. Founded in 1892, when Officers of the Black Watch Regiment recognized the potential of the vast wilderness of duneland on the rugged coast of County Clare. “Old” Tom Morris of St. Andrews laid out the trees and greens and later Dr. Mackenzie (designer of Cypress Point and Augusta) made a number of adjustments to the links. 18 holes, 6696 yards, par 72.
Cliffs of Moher are located at the southwestern edge of the Burren region in County Clare, Ireland. They rise 120 metres (390 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean at Hag's Head, and, eight kilometres to the north, reach their maximum height of 214 metres (702 ft) just north of O'Brien's Tower, which is a round stone tower near the midpoint of the cliffs that was built in 1835 by Sir Cornelius O'Brien. From the cliffs, and from atop the tower, visitors can see the Aran Islands in Galway Bay, the Maumturks and Twelve Pins mountain ranges to the north in County Galway, and Loop Head to the south. The cliffs rank amongst the most visited tourist sites in Ireland and receive approximately one million visitors a year.
