Belfast is Ireland's second-largest city and is the capital of Northern Ireland. In recent years this city has undergone a remarkable transformation and Belfast's economy is now booming. Many areas of Belfast have been redeveloped, new restaurants and hotels have opened, and impressive new shopping areas have been built.Over the years, the important River Lagan has provided the city with much wealth and was an integral part of the city's thriving shipbuilding industry in the early 20th century. Undoubtedly the most famous ship ever to be made in Belfast was the ill-fated Titanic, which was actually built in the city's very own shipyards in 1911 and created using the world's latest innovation and technology. The Titanic Quarter and Victoria Square are two especially appealing parts of the city, transformed by recent regeneration programmes. Residing on the western bank of the River Lagan, the city centre is based around Donegall Square and the Royal Avenue
Royal Belfast G.C. The oldest golf club in Ireland, and experience one of the top parkland courses in the country. This beauty from architect Harry Colt combines multiple directional changes with a generous helping of his shrewd bunkering. Uphill and downhill holes plus a healthy mix of doglegs shooting off in every direction only add to the complexity of the layout. The end result is not your typical parkland layout but a tricky devil that demands a lot of thinking. Par 70, 6315 yards
County Louth G.C. Generally held to have the best greens in Ireland, this links course was designed by Tom Simpson to have well-guarded and attractive greens without being overly dependant on bunkers. The course is laid out in two loops covering some 190 acres with no two holes running in the same direction. The only exception being the 12th and 13th which run along the sea. It speaks highly for Simpson's design that he saw need to introduce only fifty bunkers in the course's defences the rest was taken care of by the natural terrain. 18 holes, 6613 yards, par 73.
