The 146th Open Championship in 2017 will be the 10th hosted by Royal Birkdale. Ireland’s Padraig Harrington won the last time the Championship was played there in 2008. Mark O’ Meara was victorious in 1998 and Ian Baker-Finch enjoyed a two-shot victory over his fellow Australian Mike Harwood in 1991. Another Australian, Peter Thomson, won The Open when it was first staged at Royal Birkdale in 1954, and again in 1965, and he was joined by Arnold Palmer (1961), Lee Trevino (1971) and Johnny Miller (1976) as winners in the North West.

Thu 20-Jul Play Royal Lytham & St Annes G.C. This course celebrated is 100th birthday in 1986. It has staged 10 Open Championships with the last being in 2012. There have been many historic moments including 1979 and 1988 when the world watched Seve Ballasteros storm home in cavalier style. 18 holes, 6685 yards, par 72.
Fri 21-Jul Play Royal Liverpool G.C
Royal Liverpool at Hoylake G.C. This is the second oldest links in England being founded in 1869. It has hosted 10 Open Championships. Famous winners have been J.H. Taylor, Bobby Jones in the second leg of his Grand Slam in 1930, Peter Thompson with his third successive victory in 1956 and Roberto de Vincenzo in 1967. 18 holes, 6821 yards, par 74.
