Gourmet Dining Options

The Cellar – this iconic restaurant with exposed beams and a cosy feel is run by a local chef and patron Billy Boyter. He returned from Edinburgh to his home town to take over after heading up the kitchen at Number One, The Balmoral.

The dining room has period appeal, stone walls, low ceilings and ancient beams. An intimate setting for Boyter to show off his significant talents with a stylish modern British menu. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Peat Inn – owned and run by award-winning Chef Geoffrey Smeddle and Katherine his wife. With Geoffrey at the hub of the kitchen, they have built a fine reputation. The kitchen focuses on delivering a seasonal menu of outstanding Scottish ingredients, sympathetically handled, to ensure dishes of terrific flavours and striking presentation.

Road Hole Restaurant at The Old Course Hotel – panoramic views across the Old Course towards West Sands and the sea beyond. The restaurant looks over the notorious 17th road hole of the world-famous golf course. There are set-lunch, tasting and dégustation menus as well a la carte, with the kitchen working around a modern Scottish style. Staff are efficient but modest and friendly, contributing to a memorable experience.

Michelin One Star and AA 2 Rosettes – pleasing little restaurant in a sleepy village; efficiently run by husband and wife team Bruce and Jackie Sangster. The esteemed chef uses Fife’s natural products and readily utilises new ideas. Tempting dishes full of flavour are well-proportioned, carefully implemented and have modern nuances: the simplest dishes are well received.
